A dividend tracker for Canadian accounts: TFSA, RRSP, FHSA and non-registered
Updated October 26, 2026
A spreadsheet works until it doesn't: a split, a fund that changes its payout, a US holding in the wrong account, a currency to convert. A dividend tracker built for Canadian accounts should handle all of that for you.
What to look for
- Every account type: TFSA, RRSP / RRIF, FHSA and non-registered, each with its own withholding and tax.
- CAD and USD: TSX, TSX Venture and NEO listings next to US ones, including US-dollar units, totalled in your base currency.
- Dates that matter: income counted from the ex-date, paid on the pay date, so you see what's earned and on its way.
- After-tax income: gross, after withholding, and net, per account.
- DRIP: income with and without reinvesting, from each payment's real price.
- Lots and splits: shares held on each ex-date from your purchase lots, adjusted for splits.
- A reality check on yield: payouts set against the price, so a high yield that's eroding your capital stands out.
How Income Viz does it
You enter your holdings by account (or by lot). Income Viz builds a 12-month income calendar from each holding's payout history โ declared payments solid, estimates hatched โ shows the dividends you've earned but not yet received, and compares holdings on total return. It works for Canadian and US investors, in CAD or USD.
